Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Ajarlight (at ajarlight.com), run by CHUN JIYOUN ("we", "us"), handles "consumer health data". It is required by the Washington My Health My Data Act (RCW chapter 19.373) and is meant to be read together with our Privacy Policy. We apply it to everyone who uses the Service, wherever you live. Contact: support@ajarlight.com.
1. Why this policy exists
You type free-text questions into Ajarlight. People sometimes write about their mood, stress, sleep, relationships or health. Information like that, and conclusions that software draws from it, can count as consumer health data. We do not ask you for health information and the Service is not a health service. We do not diagnose, treat or assess anyone. This policy covers any health-related details that you choose to include in a question.
2. What we collect and why
| Category of consumer health data | What it may include | Why we collect and use it |
|---|---|---|
| Health-related details in your question | Anything you write about your feelings, mental state, stress, sleep, body or health | To write the reading you asked for, and to show crisis support contacts instead of a reading if the question mentions self-harm |
| Health-related content in the reading text | AI-written text that mentions your feelings or situation, based on your question | To show the reading to you; for paid readings, so you can see it again |
| Crisis-topic flag | A temporary, automatic marker that a question mentioned self-harm or similar topics | To decide whether to show crisis support contacts |
We do not use this data for advertising, profiling for sale, or training AI models. We do not combine it with data from other companies.
3. Where we get it
Only from you: the questions you type and the topic you pick. The reading text is created by AI software from your question. We do not buy health data or collect it from other websites, apps, devices or people.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share it for advertising. We pass it only to the service providers below, which process it for us under contract and only to run the Service.
| Recipient (category) | Data they receive | Purpose | How you can contact them |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI provider (currently Anthropic, PBC) | Your question, topic and drawn cards | To write your reading. Under its commercial terms, it does not use our inputs to train its models and deletes them within 30 days unless longer storage is needed for safety review or legal reasons | See the contact details in its privacy policy |
| Cloudflare, Inc. (database, Cloudflare D1) | Paid questions and reading text only. Free-reading questions and text are not stored in our database | To store your account and paid readings | Through us at support@ajarlight.com |
| Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting) | Site traffic, which includes what you type while it travels to our servers | To deliver the website securely | See the contact details in its privacy policy |
We have no affiliates. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal order.
5. How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Free reading question and reading text | Not stored: processed in memory to create your reading, then discarded. (Our AI provider's own handling is described in section 4.) |
| Paid readings (question and reading text) | Until you delete them, or 2 years after your last sign-in, unless you still have unused readings. Each paid reading has a delete button in your account |
6. Your rights and how to use them
You can:
- Confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and access it, including a list of all third parties we shared it with and a way to contact them;
- Withdraw consent to our collection and sharing of it;
- Delete it. We will delete it from our systems, including archives and backups, and tell the service providers above to delete it. Because we do not store free-reading questions or text, this concerns paid readings. Deletion from backups may take up to 6 months after we confirm your request.
How to make a request. Email support@ajarlight.com from the address linked to your purchase, or tell us the date of your free reading. We may ask for details to confirm it is you. For free readings, we do not store the question or reading text, so there is normally nothing for us to delete. We will reply to confirm we received your request within 3 business days, and we will complete it without undue delay and within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend this once by another 45 days, and we will tell you why within the first 45 days. You can make requests free of charge, up to twice a year.
Paid readings. You can also delete any paid reading yourself with the delete button in your account.
If we say no (appeal). If we refuse or cannot complete your request, you can appeal by emailing support@ajarlight.com with the subject line "Appeal". We will reply in writing within 45 days of receiving your appeal, telling you what we did or did not do and why.
7. Complaints to the Washington Attorney General
If we deny your appeal, or you are unhappy with our response, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General and file a complaint at https://www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint (online form). You can file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at any time.
8. Consent and changes
We collect and use consumer health data only as described here, which is what is needed to give you the reading you asked for. If we ever want to collect, use or share it for a new purpose, we will first update this policy and ask for your clear consent.
